About Sziget Festival 2027

Sziget is one of Europe's largest music and cultural festivals, held every August on Óbudai-sziget (Óbuda Island), a 108-hectare island in the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. Running since 1993, it draws several hundred thousand visitors across five days, roughly half from outside Hungary, and features multiple stages spanning electronic, rock, pop, hip hop, and world music alongside circus, theatre, and art installations. The site is a walkable festival city with its own camping grounds, called "the Island of Freedom." Getting there: fly or take an international train/bus into Budapest, then reach the island via HÉV suburban rail to Filatorigát or the festival's dedicated shuttle boats and buses from Nyugati Railway Station. As of September 2026 the 2027 lineup has not yet been announced; Sziget typically confirms early headliners in spring ahead of the event.
