About GMO Sonic
GMO SONIC is a large-scale indoor electronic dance music festival in Saitama, Japan, co-produced by GMO Internet Group and Creativeman Productions. Launched in 2020, it has grown into one of Japan's biggest dance-music events, with past lineups including Marshmello, Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, Zedd, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Meduza and Dom Dolla. The 2027 edition returns to Saitama Super Arena after an 18-month renovation that saw the venue renamed GMO Arena Saitama under a naming-rights sponsorship, making this festival the venue's grand reopening event. Earlier editions ran in January; the 2027 edition moves to April 3–4, a one-time calendar shift. The arena holds roughly 36,500 for stadium-configuration shows. It suits international and domestic EDM fans looking for a major-production festival inside a world-class arena rather than an outdoor site; the venue sits one minute's walk from JR Saitama-Shintoshin Station, about 30–40 minutes from central Tokyo with no transfer needed.
