About Boom Festival 2027
Boom Festival is a biennial psychedelic-culture gathering held on the shores of the Marechal Carmona reservoir (Idanha-a-Nova Lake) at Herdade da Granja, near Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Independent since 1997 and based in this region since 2002, it is run by Good Mood Productions with no corporate sponsorship, funded entirely by ticket sales and community support. The programme spans psytrance, progressive, ambient, downtempo, techno and live world music across permanent themed areas — Dance Temple, Alchemy Circle, Sacred Fire and the Liminal Village — alongside workshops, visual art, permaculture and eco-initiatives. The 2027 edition (18-25 July) marks the festival's 30th anniversary under the theme 'Psychedelic Renaissance'. Attendees camp on-site by the lake; the nearest reference points are Idanha-a-Nova, Monsanto and Idanha-a-Velha, about 260 km from Lisbon.
